Project Pragati meets the educational needs of child- -ren housed in observation/children’s homes. These children are usually runaways, lost, abandoned, orphaned and children in conflict with law. They are children in need of care and protection. Pragati gives them a strong foundation of education, while they are institutionalized, and in-house computer training facilities preparing the children for discharge.

Through our supplementary education classes, about 560 children are provided the coaching facilities to perform better in their academics. They are also counselled and helped to make the best use of the education available to them. Pragati’s computer classes teach approximately 80 children invaluable computer literacy with the facility of one computer per child.

Pragati believes that quality education is vital in order to break the cycle of poverty in children’s lives. The project delivers end-to-end services covering the education needs of these children.



	Pragati’s follow up activity tracks 360 children discharged from observation homes right down to their very home. Through personal home visits and counseling, the children’s families are encouraged to admit the children into the local municipal schools thereby ensuring that they continue in school. Sahaara gifts the dream of a stable future through the opportunity of quality education.
